Snap the Cat Facts

This page is a store-page fact sheet for Snap the Cat. It repeats what KORO.GAMES and Lazy Otter published on Steam and itch.io, and it marks community estimates so they are not mixed up with official numbers. For the first session, open the getting started guide. For version history, use the updates hub.

Studio, store identity, and release

Snap the Cat is developed by KORO.GAMES and published by Lazy Otter. The Steam application ID is 4539530. The full game released on 25 August 2026 for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It is a single-player game. There is no multiplayer mode.

Support listed on the store: [email protected]. Studio site: koro.games.

Price and reviews (27 August 2026)

The listed USD price is $6.99, with a launch discount of 30% to $4.89. Steam describes that introductory offer as ending on 7 September. Regional storefronts can show local currency; treat the USD figures as the English-page launch numbers.

As of 27 August 2026, Steam shows a Positive review score: 91% of 49 user reviews. That is still a small sample, so the percentage can move in the first weeks.

Advertised content and achievements

Steam marketing highlights:

  • 8+ biomes
  • 40+ cats
  • 25+ costumes
  • a skill tree
  • packs with guaranteed rewards
  • 49 Steam achievements

Highlighted achievement names include Brush cats, More cats, and Cat lover. Those strings come from Steam. A working tracker lives on the achievement checklist. Collection pages sit on the cats hub and the costumes guide. Upgrade routing is on the skill tree page.

The “8+ / 40+ / 25+” lines are advertised floors, not a locked census. Individual wiki biome articles may name more places than a marketing bullet. When you need a fact for the store, prefer Steam’s wording. When you need a play map, use the biomes hub.

Steam flags (how the game is meant to be played)

Steam lists these features:

  • Mouse Only Option
  • Playable without Timed Input
  • Save Anytime
  • Steam Cloud
  • Family Sharing
  • Steam Achievements

Together they describe a calm photography loop: you can frame a shot without a timer, save whenever you like, and continue on another machine through Cloud. Family Sharing follows Steam’s usual household rules. Input and hardware notes are expanded on the controls guide.

Languages (13)

Steam lists thirteen interface languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Ukrainian, and Turkish.

The older itch.io demo list had twelve languages. Turkish is the extra language on the 1.0 Steam page. This wiki currently covers English, French, German, and Spanish. How the list grew is recorded on the updates hub.

System requirements

Windows minimum: Windows 10, dual-core CPU, 6 GB RAM, OpenGL 3.0, 4 GB disk.

Windows recommended: Windows 11, 8 GB RAM.

macOS: macOS 12 or newer, Apple M1, 8 GB RAM.

Linux: dual-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, OpenGL 3.0, 4 GB disk.

That is a light footprint. A PC that already runs other 2D Steam indies with OpenGL 3.0 is usually enough.

Starting biome: outdoor meadow, not the Cafe

The Cat Cafe is not the starting area. You begin in the first outdoor biome, a meadow-style field. The Cafe is a later, special location — indoor photography as a change of pace, not the tutorial lawn. Read the Cat Cafe guide when the game actually opens that door, and browse every location from the biomes hub.

Do not treat follower thresholds on this page as official Steam statistics. Wiki biome articles use community estimates for unlock gates. If you need the working chart, open how to unlock biomes and keep the estimate label in mind.

What is not an official Steam fact

There is no confirmed official New Game Plus that opens six costume slots. NG+ is not listed among Steam’s feature flags. Describe costume slots from the live collection screen, not from an invented plus-mode sheet. See the costumes guide for what that screen actually offers.

Do not credit the game to another studio. The developer string is KORO.GAMES; the publisher string is Lazy Otter.

Demo still on itch.io (and Steam)

An itch.io demo is still posted. The downloadable demo files are still listed as 0.4.14 for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Steam also still offers a demo so you can try before buying.

Community / practical note (not a documented Cloud transfer): demo saves and full-game saves are separate. Do not assume a web, itch, or Steam demo file will appear in a 1.0 Cloud slot. Economy and language changes between those builds are on the updates hub.

Fun facts that are actually true

  • Launch week already sat in Positive reviews with a still-tiny sample (49 reviews, 91%).
  • Achievement copy is unapologetically cat-brained: brushing cats, more cats, loving cats.
  • Packs are advertised with guaranteed rewards, not as a pure mystery box.
  • You can play mouse-only and without timed input, which matches the cozy photography pitch.
  • Save anytime plus Steam Cloud is the official backup story — not a fan-made bridge from the demo.
  • Turkish joined the language list for 1.0 versus the twelve-language demo set.
  • The first photograph is an outdoor one. Save the Cafe for later, when the game actually unlocks it.
